School & Learning Issues Support

sv-dt1

School-related challenges, whether academic, social, or behavioural, can significantly impact a young person’s self-esteem and overall well-being. This support service helps children and teens struggling with the pressures of school, learning differences like dyslexia, or conditions like ADHD. We work together to address feelings of frustration, anxiety, and low self-worth that often accompany these difficulties.

The focus is not on tutoring, but on building emotional resilience, developing effective coping strategies, and fostering a more positive self-image. I help clients understand their unique learning style and strengths, turning perceived weaknesses into assets.

Frequently asked questions

(01) Is this service a replacement for a tutor or educational psychologist?
No, this is an emotional support service. While I help develop general learning strategies, I do not provide subject-specific tutoring or formal diagnostic assessments. I work alongside other professionals to support your child's overall emotional well-being related to their learning.
(02) My child has anxiety about school but no diagnosed learning difficulty. Can you help?
Absolutely. School anxiety can stem from many sources—social pressures, performance anxiety, or a general fear of failure. We can work together to identify the root causes and develop coping mechanisms to reduce their anxiety.
(03) How can you help a child who is reluctant to engage with schoolwork?
We explore the emotions behind the reluctance—is it fear of failure, boredom, or feeling overwhelmed? By addressing these core feelings and connecting learning to their personal interests and strengths, we can help rebuild motivation.
(04) What age group do you work with for school support?
I work with children and teenagers of all school ages, from primary school through to A-Levels, tailoring the approach and language to be age-appropriate.
(05) How long soes therapy usually take?
There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of you need to be anything embarrassing of text.
