Autism & Neurodiversity Support

img-sv7

Navigating a world designed for neurotypical minds can be exhausting and lead to anxiety, depression, and a sense of being misunderstood. This is not about “treating” autism but about providing affirming support for the emotional challenges that can accompany it. My service offers a safe and validating space for neurodivergent individuals (including those with Autism, ADHD, and more) to explore their identity, process their experiences, and develop strategies for thriving.

The focus is on your strengths and unique way of experiencing the world. Together, we can work on understanding sensory sensitivities, managing overwhelm, navigating social interactions, and building self-esteem from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective.

Frequently asked questions

(01) Do I need a formal diagnosis to access this support?
No, you do not. Many individuals self-identify as neurodivergent or are seeking to understand themselves better. You are welcome here whether you have a formal diagnosis, are self-identified, or are simply exploring.
(02) Are you a "autism therapist"?
I am a counsellor who provides emotional support from a neurodiversity-affirming paradigm. This means I do not seek to make you appear more neurotypical, but to support your mental health within the context of your neurotype.

(03) Can you help with managing sensory overload?
Yes. We can explore your specific sensory profile and develop practical strategies to manage overwhelming environments, create sensory-safe routines, and use tools to help you regulate your nervous system.

(04) Do you help with social skills?
We can work on understanding social dynamics in a way that makes sense to you, but the goal is not to force neurotypical social norms. The focus is on building confidence, finding your authentic communication style, and connecting with others in ways that feel genuine and comfortable for you.

(05) Can you support parents of neurodivergent children?
Yes, please see my dedicated Parent Support & Guidance service. I offer sessions to help parents understand their child's neurotype, develop effective and affirming support strategies, and navigate their own emotional journey.
